LENAWEE COUNTY, MI — A two-vehicle crash sent one car spinning into a nearby house, leaving the driver with severe injuries, police said.
At about 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, deputies from the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash involving two vehicles near the intersection of Ridge Highway and M-50 in Ridgeway Township, eastern Lenawee County.
Prior to the crash, a 2019 Chevy pickup truck was driving northbound on Ridge Highway when it struck a 2010 Mazda on the passenger side as both vehicles crossed through the intersection, according to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office.
The Mazda was sent spinning from the roadway, and ultimately struck a nearby house located on the northeast corner of the intersection, police said.
The driver of the Mazda, a 38-year-old Tecumseh man, was critically injured in the crash, police said, and was transported to Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor.
The driver of the truck, a 30-year-old Milan woman, received minor injuries, and no one in the home was injured, police said.
The driver of the truck told police the traffic light was green in her lane. It is unknown if alcohol or speed played a factor in the crash, police said, and the incident is under investigation.
Deputies were assisted by the Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team, Ridgeway Fire Department and Lenawee Community Ambulance.
